God calls on us to give regularly, generously, and sacrificially to show our gratitude for all He has given us. For us, giving is worship. It’s an expression of gratitude because everything we have and enjoy comes from God.

It changes us when we give. There is a joy and freedom we experience when we give as an expression of our love for God.


Jesus gave excellent advice on financial investments — though we don’t usually think of His teaching this way. He said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21)

Tithe

A Biblical Principle

The word "tithe" literally means 10%. In the Bible, God calls us to return 10% of all we earn back to Him through the local church. This act of giving is more than a financial transaction; it’s a spiritual discipline. The purpose of tithing is to teach us to always put God first in our lives, reminding us that everything we have comes from Him. By faithfully tithing, we acknowledge God's provision and express our trust in His continued blessings. Tithing is a way to honor God with the first fruits of our labor, showing that our faith and devotion to Him take precedence over all else.


Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. (Malachi 3:10)

Offering

A Gift of Generosity

An offering is any gift you give above and beyond your regular tithe. Jesus taught us that when we are generous with others, God will be generous with us. He is the ultimate example of generosity, giving His life for us so that we may have eternal life. By offering more, we reflect the heart of Christ and participate in the divine cycle of giving and receiving blessings. Our offerings are an expression of love, gratitude, and trust in God's provision, allowing us to be a blessing to others as we have been blessed.


Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:38)
